From the hiring team.
We are not assessing production quality. We are looking for a teacher young children respond to, someone they would want to sing, play, and talk with. Answer as you would on a real call with a family; you can pause, record in parts, and review everything before you submit. Every submission is reviewed by a member of our team, and every candidate receives a response.
the hiring team
Your afternoon is a handful of 20 minute live sessions, each with a small group of families: a child under five, a grown-up beside them, and you on screen. You sing, point, play, wait and cheer, in Amharic and English, in whatever mix each child needs, and you show the parents how to keep it going at home. Between sessions you prepare from our lesson plans, and some days you record a short, playful video for new families. Once a week you watch your own recordings with a coach and get a little better.
You need a camera and a microphone. A phone is fine, and so is a laptop with a webcam. Find a quiet, well lit spot. You can pause, carry on, add parts, and play it all back before you save it.
It saves as you go. Close the tab, come back on your link, nothing is lost. The clock keeps running from when you first open the assessment; you can pause it.
If you are shortlisted
- An interview over video call with the hiring team.
- Two references.
- A background check and two practice sessions with real families, before you begin teaching.
